When I first started this blog, I was hurting. The world had just been shaken by a pandemic, and I had lost my father. I remember feeling so alone—lost in grief—despite being surrounded by people. I didn’t know what else to do but write. So, I began sharing my heart with the world through this platform, hoping to help others who were hurting just like me.
In the beginning, I told myself that if I could reach just one person—if just one person felt a little less alone because of my words—then my efforts would be worth it. I didn’t realize at the time that the person I would be helping the most was myself.
I’ve gone through countless challenges since I started this journey. Rough patches, moments of doubt, times when it felt like no one was listening. And yet, I kept writing. Why? Because this is how I heal. This is how I grow.
I realize now that we often look outward for validation, for signs that we’re making an impact, for evidence that we’re being seen. But sometimes, the greatest growth happens when no one else is watching—when we’re sitting alone with our thoughts, tending to our own wounds, and slowly, quietly becoming stronger.
One Percent Better Every Day
What I’ve learned—and what I want to share with you today—is that progress doesn’t always come in grand gestures. Healing doesn’t happen overnight. Change doesn’t always announce itself with fireworks.
Sometimes, the most powerful thing we can do is focus on being just 1% better than we were yesterday. One small step forward. One moment of choosing hope over despair. One breath of gratitude in the midst of chaos.
This idea of “1% better every day” has become a lifeline for me. When everything feels overwhelming, I remind myself that I don’t have to fix it all at once. I don’t need to have all the answers. I just need to do one thing today that moves me closer to where I want to be.
It’s Okay to Grow in the Dark
If you’re reading this and feeling unseen, unnoticed, or unheard, I want to remind you of something important: it’s okay to grow in the dark. Not every breakthrough happens in the spotlight. Sometimes, the most profound transformations happen in the quiet, when we’re tending to our hearts and nurturing our souls.
If you’re in a space where it feels like you’re the only one benefiting from the work you’re doing—whether it’s your creative pursuits, your healing journey, or simply trying to get through another day—know that this is enough. Your growth is valid. Your healing is important. And sometimes, helping yourself is the greatest gift you can give to others.
Love and Light: The Journey to Healing
I’ve learned that love and light are not just destinations; they are the path itself. Every time you choose to show up for yourself, every time you extend grace and compassion to your own soul, you are walking in love and light. And that’s something worth celebrating.
Today, I encourage you to focus on just 1%. What’s one small thing you can do to move forward? Maybe it’s writing down one thing you’re grateful for. Maybe it’s calling a friend. Maybe it’s taking a deep breath and giving yourself permission to rest.
Whatever it is, know that it matters. Know that you matter.
We Are All on This Journey Together
I started this blog because I didn’t want to feel alone. And now, I see that even in the times when I’ve felt like the only person benefiting from this work, there’s a deeper truth: we’re all on this journey together. Every step you take toward healing yourself sends ripples out into the world.
So, let’s keep going. Let’s keep choosing love and light, even when it’s hard. Let’s keep growing, even in the dark. And let’s remember that being 1% better today than we were yesterday, is more than enough.
With love and light,
